We believe that God gives leaders who serve by working to see people saved, encouraged, taught, disciplined and loved. We believe that leaders are to lead humbly and gently, yet with the full authority of God. We believe that all leadership must be redemptive in nature. We believe that leadership is always team based.


We believe that leaders reproduce who they are and accordingly our character needs to be above reproach. (1 Timothy 3)


We believe that it is the member’s responsibility to follow and support the leadership of Joy to the Nations by praying for us, avoiding gossip and giving yourself to the purposes of the church (Hebrews 13:17)

  • The church is lead by Elders who have the responsibility for direction, doctrine and discipline (see Acts 14v23, Acts 20v28, 1 Timothy 5v17, 1 Timothy3, Titus 1 & 2, 1 Peter 5)
  • The Eldership are supported in this role by deacons (Acts 6; 1 Timothy 3)
  • Various ministry teams which do the work of ministry
  • We believe that any form of hierarchy whether real or perceived goes against the heart of God. Jesus Christ demonstrates a servant hearted leadership by coming not as a king but as a servant
